NGA CERTIFIES RemoteVIew 2.8.1 For Precision Positioning

Sterling, VA — September 29, 2008 — Overwatch Geospatial Systems, an operating unit of Textron Systems, a Textron Inc. (NYSE TXT) company, today announced that the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) has certified its RemoteView 2.8.1 solution for precision positioning using Common Geo-positioning Services (CGS). The certification, which provides the largest base of GEOINT analysts access to CGS precision targeting through their current RemoteView applications, marks a milestone in Overwatch Geospatial Systems’ continuing history of innovation and client responsiveness as the market leader in Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) solutions and services.

CGS was designed to provide users of all image exploitation systems with a common tool for precise geo-positioning. Overwatch Geospatial Systems CGS certification provides GEOINT analysts and targeteers?, at every level of the Department of Defense and across intelligence agencies, a validated and consistent tool for producing the most accurate geo-coordinates possible for precision targeting. The certification paves the way for thousands of RemoteView users to integrate CGS with their current RemoteView Pro 2.8.1 solutions for targeting via the NGA’s Image Exploitation Capability. Overwatch is also in the final stages of CGS certification for its ELT5500 solution, which will provide thousands of additional GEOINT analysts with CGS capability.

“As the market leader in image and video exploitation solutions, having CGS available to all RemoteView users provides a great step toward achieving Textron Systems’ broader vision to integrate its sensors with our geospatial solutions,” said Kirk Brown, Overwatch Geospatial Systems General Manager. “CGS certification enables our clients to narrow the gap between sensor capture and mission engagement by optimizing workflow, increasing accuracy and accelerating time-to-decision for mission-critical operations.”

The CGS software is provided by the U.S. Government and is easily installed on any workstation running RemoteView Pro 2.8.1 for Windows. Use of CGS is easily learned with minimal training for users familiar with RemoteView. Overwatch Geospatial Systems will continue to expand its validated targeting solutions, continuing with the validation of RemoteView 3.0 and ELT5500 integrated with CGS Version 2.1 later this year.
